Level 2 Apprenticeship in Activity Leadership (4 part framework)

Level 2 Activity Leadership (600/1201/8)

The 1st4sport Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Activity Leadership is an occupational qualification that provides learners with an opportunity to be assessed over a period of time on both the theoretical and practical aspects of activity leadership in the workplace. It is ideally suited for those who have experience in the area of activity leadership and wish to gain a nationally accredited qualification.

Level 2 Principles and Preparations For Coaching (600/2718/6)

Developed in partnership with industry experts including Skills Active the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in the Principles and Preparations for Coaching Sport (QCF) provides learners with both the theoretical and practical aspects around the principles of coaching sport. The qualification is ideal for those wishing to develop as a sports coach with progression opportunities to sport-specific based coaching qualifications.

However, it’s important to note that the qualification does not qualify learners to coach any particular sport; it simply provides learners with an introduction to the knowledge and skills required to be an effective sports coach.

Level 2 Employment Awareness (500/7337/0)

The 1st4sport Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning provides your learners with the confidence to make informed decisions about vocational and career progression routes. This qualification supersedes the 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Industry and Organisational Awareness for the Active Leisure and Learning Industry, and provides learners with an appropriate depth of knowledge about:

•employment rights and responsibilities

•the active leisure and learning sector

•the employing organisation.

Level 1 Functional Skills Maths (600/4315/5) and English (600/0884/2)

As part of the framework, all learners will have to have evidence of achieving at least a grade 4 (C) or above in both English and Maths to be exempt for this element of the Apprenticeship. A grade 3 (D) in either would mean a Functional skill would have to be taken in the respective qualification and is a mandatory requirement to achieve the full qualification. (Level 1 Functional skill at Level 2 Apprenticeship level)

 

Level 3 Apprenticeship in Sports Development (4 part framework)

Level 3 NVQ Diploma In Sports Development (600/4301/5)

The 1st4sport Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Sports Development (QCF) has been developed to provide learners with a measure of their competence as a sports development practitioner. It is a competence qualification, assessed in a workplace environment that forms the competence outcome of the Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Sports Development. This qualification is part of a suite professionally recognised by the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), which supports an individual’s personal and professional development within the industry.

The qualification fits into existing apprenticeship schemes as the Employee Rights and Responsibilities component of all Intermediate Apprenticeships in the active leisure and learning sector, ensuring a healthy demand, but can also be delivered as a stand-alone qualification outside an apprenticeship.

Level 3 Principles of Coaching Sport (500/8753/8)

The 1st4sport Level 3 Award in the Principles of Coaching Sport provides your learners with the knowledge needed to develop their confidence and start them on the road to an engagement with coaching sport. Utilising the common-knowledge units for coaching, learners gain the required generic knowledge that all sports coaches need to plan, conduct and evaluate safe and effective coaching programmes in sport. This includes:

  • the principles of safe and equitable coaching practice

  • the fundamentals of coaching programmes

  • the principles of planning coaching programmes

  • how to support participants’ lifestyles through coaching programmes.

Level 3 Employment Awareness (500/7423/4)

 

The 1st4sport Level 3 Award in Employment Awareness in Active Leisure and Learning provides your learners with the confidence to make informed decisions about vocational and career progression routes.
